Cobaltix has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Consultant based out of our SF office and covering Bay Area clients.
The culture here is such that everyone looks out for everyone else, and both learning and teaching are core to the way we do things. We are about 80 people and growing, and key values include being able to work independently (but still in a team environment), doing the right thing, and keeping clients happy. The company provides an environment where strong and independent people thrive. These should be standard at every company, but they just form the base here.
Years of experience and certs are not nearly as important to us as how good you are. We pay well ($90k to $140k+, for this position). We treat our people right–our bonus program is a real way for the company to say thank you, and the bonuses are very real money, given out each month.
We assume the basics (Windows, Macs, Windows Servers, VMWare, networking, cloud services) and all of our people develop specialties as well. Some have excellent skills with networking equipment (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Juniper). Others have a security focus, doing vulnerability assessments, ethical hacking, repelling attacks, working with IDS/IPS, and generally countering the bad guys. Some of our people specialize around data and storage (Nimble, SANs, blade servers, AD, Splunk, AWS and Azure). Others are especially adept at design and architecture, especially DR, replication, and distributed networks. Everyone, though, is well rounded and has great general skills.
What we aren’t looking for: We aren’t looking for people who think “it isn’t my job,” seat-fillers, people who are content to stand still, or people who don’t like people. Our people are our reputation, and we only hire really nice people. We want people who want to learn and grow, regardless of their level. Our people are always learning and mentoring.
